Laser

Laser coagulation is used when the external hemorrhoids haven't been cured with ointments and other non-surgical methods.

Skilled surgeons use laser light with pinpoint accuracy in order that the unwanted hemorrhoid is simply vaporized or excised. The laser beam is infinitely small, which allows precision and accuracy. This helps in usually rapid and unimpaired healing. Earlier, Laser coagulation was applied which involved an electric current being applied to the hemorrhoid through an electrode probe. The hemorrhoid went through a chemical reaction that stopped blood flow to the hemorrhoid and allowed the swollen tissue to shrink.

Hemorrhoids laser surgery results in less discomfort than the old-fashioned method. The use of medication is also decreased and the healing process is much faster. Usually a hospital stay is not required and the patient is released in few hours. The laser is inherently therapeutic and seals off the nerves and tiny blood vessels. Post operative discomfort is also something the patient is relieved of, as by sealing superficial nerve endings, the discomfort is kept to a minimum. Because the surgeon closes the tiny blood vessels, the operation is performed in a controlled and bloodless environment. The entire procedure is less painful and more comfortable for both the patient and the doctor. The procedure is much quicker, which is a relief for both the doctor and the patient.

Hemorrhoids laser surgery can be used alone or in combination with other therapies.

Hemorrhoids laser surgery has certain side effects/risks such as infection, under correction and over correction.
